葡萄酒與食物的交響曲[1] (A Symphony of Wine and Food I)

在台灣, 葡萄酒是浪漫的異國飲料, 人們認為葡萄酒高貴, 孤傲, 華麗但卻不可褻玩, 僅有在宴客, 特殊場合才能夠一親芳澤; 但在歐洲, 葡萄酒是食物, 是每天生活的必備, 跟麵包與乳酪一樣, 是食文化中非常重要的一環, 尤其在法國, 很多在地的菜色還被要求要能夠與當地的葡萄酒一起享用, 不能夠相互衝突.

我們這樣說吧, 沒有了解葡萄酒, 我們永遠沒有辦法了解歐洲的食文化, 沒有了解食物與葡萄酒的結合, 我們對歐洲食文化的理解永遠也沒有辦法達到隨心所欲的程度.

那我們為什麼要了解歐洲的食文化呢? 這麼回答吧, 是眼界, 是經驗, 是文化, 也是與眾不同的品味.

因此我們一起來學習葡萄酒與食物的交響曲吧, 一位對葡萄酒很有心得, 在台灣, 紐約與加拿大都有開課的朋友 Raymond 剛好要回來台灣, 我問他可不可以教我這些知識與技巧,

Recursive UnZipper developed in Java

Often people come to cross certain situations that require so-called "recursive unzipper," which means the unzipper that can automatically detect the zip files inside the zip file that it's currently working on, and unzip them altogether. However, there are rarely software applications that support this "recursive decompression." Too bad, isn't it?
So I spent some time to work on this recursive unzipper in java. I will gcc it into a .exe file some day later, maybe add in certian GUI too. However, let's just share it this way until I have some spared time:)

一位在巴黎成功的華裔企業家曾經用著嚴肅的口吻，對著眼前參訪的台灣學生說：

一個平凡無期的禮拜六。

9:00AM，女友的電話將我喚醒，
9:30AM，女友提著排骨，空心菜，山藥三項食材壓著一樓的電鈴。
11:30AM，頓時發現山藥排骨中加了不該加的醬油，走到房間，望望感冒臥病的女友，與她身邊散亂的"抓狂一族"，猶豫著要不要告訴她我作壞了她的午餐。
12:00AM，向女友告罪後，跟室友Georges到轉角Milano午餐。
1:00PM，回到房間，看看熟睡著的女友，餐桌上有排骨的殘跡。
1:30PM，喉嚨有點癢癢的。
3:00PM，說要出去買薑作薑湯治感冒，卻一直在客廳跟Georges聊天；偷抽了一根香煙。
3:10PM，出發。
3:15PM，走到忠孝東路上，發現民進黨主席蔡英文在發財車上聲嘶力竭。
3:50PM，回到客廳，女友正在看"關鍵下一秒"
5:00PM，女友回到房間休息。
6:30PM，洗澡。
7:10PM，出發前往機場為她朋友送行。
8:00PM，在第二航廈與到一個天兵斯洛伐克人，說要去阿里山。
10:30PM，出發回台北。
11:15PM，到台北，送女朋友回家。
11:55PM，回到家，發現Georges還沒回來。

[Article from Previous Blog]Single OLs! 單身上班女！

“Why don’t you have a boyfriend, given a girl like you? You are beautiful, smart, charming, easy-going, and successful. There might be tons of guys dying for you. What’s the reason?” So I asked.

“你麼怎麼可能沒有男朋友？說真的，你漂亮，聰明，迷人，隨和，事業又有成就，應該有人為你跳淡水河才對阿？”我問。

“I don’t know. But this is the fact. Good guys in Taiwan are extinct.” Answered the girl.

“我哪知？但單身是事實阿。台灣好男人都死光了吧。” 她回答。

In the past two days, with Lance but sometimes alone, I had the privilege to spend a lot of time with 7 outstanding Taiwanese single OLs. They have a lot of things in common, however, it’s the singleness (which means not married and not in a relationship) that drew my attention. Two AMs, three journalists, a student (a potential OL), and an assistant, if you insist to know their titles. Let’s talk about what they have in common besides singleness. They are ALL highly educated; all of them graduated from excellent national or foreign universities, some even from renowned graduate schools. ALL of them speak very good English, along with their very good Chinese. ALL of them are either successful in their career or extremely potential, which means they are already or will be somebody. Nevertheless, they are ALL 100% extremely SINGLE. Well, I have to say that I just don’t get it.

過去的兩天裡，老爹跟我剛好有機會跟7個很厲害的OL混再一起（雖然老爹有時候不在場）。有件事情讓我非常納悶：他們全部都單身，這單身不僅是沒有結婚，而是連男朋友都沒有，如果你想知道他們再幹嘛：兩個sales，三個記者，一個學生（不久後就會成為OL），一個助理。

我們先來聊聊這些人的相似之處，國立或國外超級大學或研究所畢業，全都是一等一的知識份子，除了超流利的台式中文外，每一個女生都能把英文說得跟Native Speaker一樣好。他們再各自的直場上都擁有（或將要擁有）一片不小的天。

但他們都徹徹底底，有怨有悔的單身。阿是怎樣？

“你是要布萊德彼特當男友阿？幫幫忙？”

After certain discussion, it turns out to be a very simple conclusion. They want the guys who are just like them: smart, charming, easy-going, successful (or potentially so), and the last but not the least, physically attractive. So I went through all the contacts in my PDA, trying to start my first ever match-maker business. However, after a few minutes, I gave up. The guys who are available are not even close to the standard, and the guys who are qualified are not at all available, married, in relationships, or gays.

“你老師拉！老娘又不是白癡。雖然小布的屁股很可愛。”他們說。

經過昭穎心理分析，我發現他們要的不就是跟他們條件一樣的男生罷拉：聰明，迷人，隨和，事業有成，最好再加上一個很帥（想想好像只有學樸符合這條件）。想做作好事，我拿起我的倚天（愛用國貨）PDA，查查我私人資料庫裡的男人，有沒有符合這些條件的。

我放棄了。沒妞的男人都…hehehe….夠格的男人都有妞，這可怎麼辦？

Interested, I went on my research. Qualified TW guys at 20s are ALL in relationships, with girls at the same age or a little bit younger or order. Qualified TW guys in their late 20s and early 30s are either married, or with girls 3 to 5 years younger to them. Qualified TW guys in their late 30s and early 40s are very much married, or too old for these lovely girls.

我繼續這驚天地、泣鬼神的研究。

20初頭的型男都有妞，對象大概都同年紀，頂多大一點或小一點。20末30初的型男不是結婚，就是跟小3-5歲的超正妹在一起，30末40初的型男除了老爹，全都死會死到極致，不然就是對這些OL來說太老了。

The spectrum scared me. This means that the best strategy for TW girls is to get a guy at their early 20s, because once they pass 25, they gradually step into the category that a TW guy at the same age tends not to consider. And at certain age, usually between 28 to 32, they are either unwilling to fall for a guy who is much order, meaning a guy after 40, or out of consideration for these guys. However outstanding TW girls, like my friends, at early 20s tend to devote throughly into their careers. They don’t discover that fact until their late 20s, almost the deadline of the acceptance of guys at the same age.

真是個嚇人的分布圖，這代表女生最好在25歲左右把型男綁死，不然接下來每個秒針的跳動都會慢慢的把他們推入冷宮。在32歲左右以後，他們不是不想找40以後的，就是這些老色鬼看不上拉。

但就我的觀察，這些優秀的女性同胞們20幾歲時全都致力於工作的表現上，唯有20末時方才會慢慢醒悟，已經有點超過同齡男人的保鮮期。

At last, these qualified TW guys fall for those who are not so much successful in careers or those who maneuver over their youth and beauty. These outstanding girls who are supposed to get the whole world stay single. Pathetic, right?

結果同年齡的型男不是被不那麼優秀（但是更厲害）的女性同胞鎖死，就是往下尋找綻放的青春。這些超棒的女生持續單身，好可惜，有點可悲。

Well, if you are one of the outstanding girls, you might want to think about your future life once you read this. A relationship doesn’t take that much time and effort, if the guy is as hard working as you do. I don’t discriminate, I state only the fact that I have perceived. On the other hand, if you are a guy who is interested in one of these girls, like me, please take actions. They may give you a very hard time in the beginning, for career is the most important in their present priority. But I have to assure you. It will be so so so rewarding.

所以拉，如果你剛好是這些女生的其中之一，你可能要好好想想這個問題。如果你想要一個跟你一樣條件的男生，幫人家把門打開吧，反正你們兩一樣忙，談這場戀愛花布了多少時間精力。

（厚！不要追著我打，我只是說出我看到的事實。）

阿如果你跟我一樣是為這些女生如痴如醉的靦腆男性，多費點工夫吧，人家一開始不會給你好過的，畢竟人家要專心工作嘛，但你的收穫一定會超越你的投資。

卡波耶拉

這禮拜三跟公司的業務，南非來的Jordan去國父紀念館試試看卡波耶拉，一個巴西傳統的武術舞蹈，個人認為超有趣的。撇開實戰的成份不談，這種運動還真能訓練到全身的肌肉，推薦想當精練型猛男，或健康型（比較大隻，肩膀比較寬，個人也很喜歡）的美女試試。

我想我會繼續訓練巴。

Ram = 1 G

Finally, after 4 years or so, I upgrade the memory of my ibook G4 from 768 to 1280. The reason for me to do it is that I cannot stand the speed of running certain developing IDE on my computer, for example, Eclipse and Netbeans. Anyways, after this, I hope that I will enjoy a more friendly developing environment, although deep in my mind I know that descent speed is impossible.

Upon the survey of choosing the Ram, I discovered several facts:

The maximum of G4 is 1.5 Gb
Changing Ram doesn't affect the warrenty, although mine is gone long time ago
It's pretty easy to change the Ram on your own. Just follow the guidance here: http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Mac/iBook-G4-12-Inch/RAM/83/4/Page-1/Battery

Voila!! My ibook with 1280 Mb ram is ready.

出社會的心得

Inspired by 魏伯父、Wayne、周老爹與余姐

出了九個月社會拉（加經濟部替代役的經驗就有約一年十個月）！

也該要整理一下領悟到的零零總總，這段時間所學的比大學前三年半加起來還多，我果然不適合當學生。好拉，我悟到了什麼？

1. 剝掉賦予學生的特權，回歸平凡

"上班後，大家都好平凡喔！"學妹說。
沒錯，上班後，又重新洗一次牌，管你是CitiBank的MA還是傳統產業的作業員，別人只會用數字與事實衡量你，幾歲，什麼公司，什麼職位，月薪多少，有沒有股票，結婚沒，生涯規劃穩不穩當？
沒有人在意你會說新幾內亞的多多族土語，能體會馬奎斯筆觸的浪漫與無奈，聽到貝多芬會情不自禁的閉上雙眼，最喜歡在月圓之夜參加泰國海島上的雜交派對等...
這一切都只存在你心裡，如果你不被人言淹沒，迷失自己的話。

最重要的，你會失去"學生"這個藉口與光環，你的競爭者不再是同屆同學，不再是台大資工系開發出來的一隻程式，而是上至比爾蓋茲，下至烏魯木奇窗邊苦練英文的卡車司機。Google創辦人的成功讓你景仰，捷運上小孩流利的英文讓你腳軟，你也開始懷疑你是不是真的需要準備貸款... 沒有人討論你的將來（除了你現在的男女朋友以外），你永遠只有現在。

老實說，我熱愛這樣的感覺，只要我有能力，我夠努力，我可以挑戰巴菲特，我必須奮力奔跑，怕被老弟趕過。

我感覺我活著。

2. 專業為重，Smart Talker閃邊站！！

"商業週刊看兩期以後，大家都可以談營收，成長，策略，報表？評論某個經理人的作為？自己卻連會計T字帳都會算錯？"我老闆說。
太多人打腫臉充胖子，本身的專業能力卻只有水潑在桌子上的高度？
初出社會能倚賴的只有專業，並且要啄之磨之，長出更深，更廣，甚至相關領域的專業，Smart Talking只會顯示自己很Low。就算你分析得完全正確吧，有誰會聘用一個沒有社會經驗的CEO？

更何況現實社會中有多少決策決定於檯面下的利益分配？這些人辛苦一輩子，重視扎實的硬功夫，沒有這樣的努力，你要怎麼打進這圈子？

門都沒有！

而且我說專業，重在投入與經驗，絕對不是學校那些拿來墊桌腳的原文書。
學校念過不等於專業。

不管領域是顧客關係，還是IC設計，這裡所指的專業，是長在鐵上，以血灌溉而成的蓮花。鐵指的是武器，是教科書融會貫通，書本翻爛三遍的所逼出來的獠牙，血是指時間，指投入，指甘願蜷曲身段，不理會別人頭上的煙花燦爛，潛心將一招一式鍛鍊得無比精準，有勁，快速，最後，蓮花是融合鐵血與創意的結晶，是努力與想像力的產物，是無可取代的專業。

3. 下班後的時間，決定往後的道路與高度

愛因斯坦說："人類最偉大的發明是複利。"

因為"複利"的特性，所有投資理財的書都會鼓勵人及早投資，並且不要間斷；聽過以下的例子吧：
假設美國土著1626年，願意以60荷蘭盾出售今日曼哈頓的土地，並將這60盾放到荷蘭銀行，收取每年6.5%的複息利率，他們2005年將可獲得約63960億港元的存款，較紐約市五條大街的物業總市值還要高。而2006年全球市值最大的上市公司艾克森美孚，市值亦只有34000多億港元。

我想強調的是，不是只有金錢財產適用複利原則，學識、語文能力、與人脈都適用複利原則，融會貫通，學識會帶來學識，穩扎穩打，一個語文能力會引領第二個語文能力，開放健談，捨得投資，人脈會如阿米巴原蟲班分裂擴散。

所以下班後給自己準備一些時間吧，好好往自己有興趣的方面鑽研，往你熱愛的領域投入，有天你一定會發現你的點連成線，線連成面，面積成體，一切渾然天成。

4. 環境知識是種素養，別忘記栽種

5. 你決定他是不是貴人

試問身為某跨國公司CEO的你，手上有個加官晉爵的重要專案，是給予那你心中辦事能力39分的，60分的，還是那個90分的年輕人？
如果這專案茲事體大（也通常只有這種專案才會讓你一飛沖天），我請問你會選擇哪一位年輕人，即使這那39分的是你家老大，60分是你未來的女婿？

因此90分的人永遠左右逢源，機會處處，供不應求，還能利用機會慢慢爬向99分，但其他人呢？

先想想怎樣達到80分吧，到達80分，自然就會有機會把你往上推了。

重點一開始就落在實力，而不在於貴人，這位貴人是不是貴人，是由你決定的。

機會在準備好的人身上才叫做機會。

C# is overviewed, now we move to VB.NET

In order to implement the parsers of C# and VB.NET, Frank(my co-worker) and I had spent time working on learning C#. Even with the well knowledge of Java, a relative language of C#, it took us up to a week to go through the all features of it.

- Provide status updates to the Taiwanese computer companies, and to me in the US

This person just needs to be smart, hard working, detailed, and responsible. They do not have to be very very technical. They just need to be good at coordinating people. I think this person should be a girl, because I think engineers like to impress girls with how good they are at computers and get their work done faster :-) but of course it can be a guy too!

Renting a lovely room in a very nice apartment!!

We are looking for an open-minded person to share a lovely room in a nice new fully furnished apartment.

THE APARTMENT:

It's on the 6th floor in a new building with great condition and security. You have a beautiful hiking trail right behind and junior high school campus for jogging.

LOCATION:

The location of this apartment is great for people who work at Nangan software park and Neihu technology park. It's about 10 ~ 20 minutes bus to Quin Yang MRT station by bus. It is close to NeiHu MRT station but it's not finish till later this year.

Moreover, it locates in a very convenient neighborhood. You have a Welcome 24H super market just 3 minutes away by walking, a few hair salons, a few Taiwanese style restaurants close to the apartment.

TRANSPORTATION:
The transportation is convinient. There is a bus-stop right outside the apartment. You can take bus straight into city centre or anywhere else.

There is a bus (281) that goes straight to Nangan software park. It only takes around 10 minutes to get there. Biking there takes only 10 to 15 minutes.

To Neihu technology park, you can take 287. It takes about 30 minutes to go there. If you happen to have a scooter, it takes you only 15 minutes to get to your work. You don't have to suffer the high housing price there in Neihu.

THE FURNITURE:

As you can see in the photos, we have a great kitchen with a wood dinner table, a giant fridge and a huge living room containing a great set of couch. The wireless internet and washing machine are both served.

THE ROOM:

It's a 4 ping room with wood furniture in it. You have a table, big closet, and a bed.

THE RENT:

It's 9000 NTD each month for this room. The rent is high for this small room, but it will be 100% acceptable when you fully realize how much space you are able to enjoy in total.

THE FLAT-MATES:

The room is taken by a New-zealand girl, Joy, until the 15 July. You will be sharing with a French and Taiwanese guy, Jules and Wing. Both of them speak English and French. And of course the Taiwanese boy speaks fluent Chinese.

They are both cool and party-oriented.

Counting Down Software!!

I recently developed a toy software that does only one thing-counting down. The reason I did that is to help hold an activity: the international affair studying camp at Cosmo Honor Society. You are able to access the info there:

No more personal site

I disable my personal site and come back to blogger.

Why?

First above all, it is expensive. I am not any more a heavy blogger. It's simply not economic if I don't use it as much as I used to.

Secondly, I have no time. I am working as a developer of software. Besides my work, I discover I don't have much time left for me for some social events, fictions, and most importantly girls. The priority of my personal site becomes so low that I don't even have any incentive to keep it.
